PERSONAL INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT
Ernesto de Barcelona website is compliant with the data protection and user privacy legislation set out by many other countries and territories as well. We collect and use personal information for the reasons that we mentioned below. However, we provide you with an opportunity to delete your personal information from our data base. When you browse our website, we automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.
When you purchase something from our wholesale shop we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address for the specific reason only.
Site visitation tracking
We use Google Analytics to help us learn about who visits our website and what pages are being looked at. Google Analytics records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, however none of this information personally identifies you to us. Also Google Analytics makes use of cookies, but you can disable cookies on your internet browser that will stop Google Analytics from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.
Online Shop
Our store is hosted on Shopify. They provide us with the online E-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you. Shopify may retain your personal information as reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations to resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce agreements and/or protect legitimate interests. If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). After your purchase is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
The email address that you submit to us will be forwarded to Shopify who provides us with E-commerce platform in order to send you transactional emails and Mailchimp who provides us with email marketing services to send you informational emails considering new products, shop updates and practical arrangements. Your email address will remain within database of these two providers for as long as we continue to use their services as E-commerce and email marketing platforms or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email newsletters that we send you or by requesting removal via email myernesto@ernestodebarcelona.com.
Wholesale Shop
If you are a retailer or distributor who wants to sell our product you may request an access to the Ernesto de Barcelona Professional Area and read Rules, Regulation & Contact Permissions for Wholesalers before. Should you choose to contact us using the company information form on our Retailers and Distributors page or sending an email on myernesto@ernestodebarcelona.com, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to any of the third party data processors. Instead the data will be collated into our database for internal use only. We collect your business information such as name, email, phone number, address, company name and VAT ID in order to be able to issue an invoice during your checkout in our Wholesale Shop and not apply additional taxes that may significantly raise the total price of your order.
You don’t have to give us any of this personal information but if you don’t, you may not be able to buy from us.
If you choose to join our email newsletter, your name and the email address that you submit to us will be stored as encrypted data in our database with date and time of your explicit consent and then forwarded to MailChimp who provide us with email marketing services. Your email address will remain within MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue to use MailChimp’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email newsletters that we send you or by requesting removal via email. When requesting removal via email, please send your email to us using the email account that is subscribed to the mailing list. If you are under 16 years of age you must obtain parental consent before joining our email newsletter.
While your email address remains within the MailChimp database, you will receive periodic (approximately one per month) newsletter-style emails from us.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as e-commerce platforms, email marketing providers, payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions. These third parties have been carefully chosen and all of them comply with the legislation. However, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers:
